Actual Response to Blog Inquiry
Keeping it short and "tweet" for our clients

I recently got this question from client in an email after discussing the merits of a great content management system like WebAdmin with all of its built in capabilties for comment management, social media distribution and dynamic content creation.

"What blog platform do you use?"

My reply, via my Andriod was short and "tweet".

"It's part of WebAdmin. The context of the question relates to external blogs like Blogger, which is an option for you instead of an internal blog".

Then I followed up with the real argument for not going outside of the website for a "blog":

Did my reply about the "blog platform" make sense? FYI, the discussion in the blog world is revolving around the death of blogging because of FaceBook and microblogs like Twitter. The following is an October 2008 article about the future of blogs from Wired:

Here is one from the Economist titled - An empire gives way (speking of blogs)

I wouldn't spend a lot of time or energy on a blog when you have other avenues to connect with people that are more effective. Google search is still numero uno as a focus because it is still growing as the "prefered means to find what you are looking for".  Constant Contact creates a lot of pull for website traffic and essentially provides a way to test the effectiveness of your communications with people who "read" you.  If you were going to be a consultant, author, speaker or other activity where what you write is what makes you stand out, then a blog would make sense.  You would then be using the blog to generate revenue as opposed to making sure people find you for the purpose of (sic) your profession.
